Following months of preparation, the Centre for Coaching kicked off the first six-month Associate Coaching Course in Switzerland on 25 September 2014. The first three day session was attended by 16 curious and committed participants from all walks of life, who over the three days engaged enthusiastically with the course and the approach with a depth rarely observed at this introductory level.
The class was led by Janine Everson, Academic Director of the Centre for Coaching in Cape Town, supported by Maria Cussell-Humphries, as guest trainer, with Michele Stoudmann and Daniel Ahlers, both partners of Centre for Coaching (Switzerland), attending in their roles as organisers and POD mentors.
At the end of the three days, the consensus from the class was that they were starting a journey of discovery of a powerful approach that they were very much looking forward to coming to grips with. One participant went so far as to say that he was not quite sure what to call this, as he found the approach much more powerful than what he had understood coaching to be.
Also contributing to the successful kick-off was of course the location, in the beautiful and peaceful grounds of the Château de Bogis-Bossey on the shores of Lake Geneva. The Chateau has a magnificent view of the lake and mountains, which was appreciated by all during the breaks, complemented by three days of glorious sunshine.
All the participants are now hard at work with their assignments and starting their case studies, which we will be reviewing by session 2 on 8-10 December in the same location. We will then come together for the third and final session of ACC on 23-24 April 2015.
The dates have also been set for the next six-month ACC programme in Switzerland, starting on 24 September 2015. The whole Centre for Coaching team is delighted to be bringing this work to this part of the world, and to be supporting those who join us in engaging with themselves and others in an integral way.
