We’re inviting you, as a member of the international coaching community, to be part of a very special leadership development project this Mandela Day. Mandela Day was launched in recognition of Nelson Mandela’s  birthday on 18 July, 2009 via a unanimous decision of the UN General Assembly. It’s intent is to inspire a movement of volunteers who seek to better the world. Mandela Day asks that you donate 67 minutes of your time to a good cause in honour of Nelson Mandela’s birthday and to recognise the 67 years of his life that he devoted to the struggle for social justice and equality.
lead SA logoThe Centre for Coaching has joined forces with LeadSA to identify organisations and individuals who could benefit from coaching. LeadSA is a philosophy that was seeded by Primedia Broadcasting, an independent media group operating in South Africa. At its heart it seeks to mobilise people to make an active commitment to their community, in whatever way they can.

So, this Mandela Day get involved and spend your 67 minutes coaching a potential leader. You can do this in your own community and simply share the experience on Twitter with the #MandelaDay or we could link you with a South African organisation so that you could do telephone or Skype coaching with them. How you make the difference is up to you.

Your one-on-one guidance can help to create a force of responsible leaders who will help to carry on Nelson Mandela’s legacy of inspired and principled leadership.
